Happy Holidays

I finally posted the pictures from Thanksgiving…. yes.. I lag. I will be posting my pictures from Taiwan just as soon as I get them off my sister’s camera.

On a side note, I am having people over for a nice New Year’s Celebration. If you happen to be bored, feel free to drop on by for some good games, good drinks, and good people.

I Give Thanks

I had a nice time down in LA (which surprisingly didn’t have too much traffic) hanging out with the rents and relatives. We had a nice turkey dinner with the Jih family at Victor’s place in Santa Monica. Thanks for hosting again! The highlight from dinner was definetely the cornbready stuffing from Whole Foods. The low point was the strange carrots in some sweet sauce….. I think they tried to trick everyone to think that carrots were just as good as sweet potatoes. I think we all agreed that they were wrong.

Anyway, I have yet to upload some pictures my sis and I took when we hit up the happiest place on earth. I’ll be sure to post them, once I get some more time…..

gobble gobble.

Turning Right… or not

It has already been a few months since my right turn signal started blinking twice as fast as my left turn signal. Since this wasn’t the first “issue” i’ve had with the Blue Stallion, I didn’t really make anything of it. Recently, my coworker Eddy pointed out that the reason it was blinking fast was that one of bulbs was probably broken…and sure enough, my front right turn signal wasn’t working.

This got me thinking… the front right turn signal is the most useless light on a car. Here is my analysis: (BTW, this is my justification for not fixing it)

A main headlight goes out: you’ll notice at night
A taillight goes out: you’ll get pulled over
Rear left turn signal: merging
Front left turn signal: unprotected left turns
Rear right turn signal: lane changing
Front right turn signal: ???

To Read List

After I received two boxes from Amazon today, I started wishing that I ddn’t need sleep in order to function. My “To Read List” is starting to grow…. here is the list as of tonight.

1. The Art of Innovation (almost done)
2. Freakonomics
3. The Belgariad (recommended by Laurie)
4. The World is Flat
5. Collapse
6. Eragon (first book in a series written by this 15 year old)
7. 3-5 Economists (a small stack is piling up since these show up weekly)

Although I am an Amazon stockholder, if you are interested in borrowing books 1-4 in the future, feel free to let me know.

Halloween 2005

I learned something important last night: Halloween parties are so much more fun with costumes. You might be thinking “duh charles, you idiot” but in all of my 23 years of trick-or-treating I never really took costumes that seriously. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes good friends and a keg is all you need, but Halloween isn’t just a typical day for a typical party. It needs to be celebrated properly with costumes ranging from cat in the hat to french maids…. preferably more of the latter.

Here are my favorite pics from last night (more pics in the photo section).
